Quarterly magazine design and print production for The Arbutus Club, a recreational and social private club on the westside of Vancouver BC, Canada.

Creative responsibilities also included image sourcing and layout design for editorial and advertisements, full-colour article spreads featuring recreational programs and events. Editing of advertising copy, conducting interviews and writing subsequent articles was also required.

Magazine file preparation and print production for 3000 copies, as well as an on-line version, four times a year.

As Communication Designer, I was responsible for the design, publishing and management of digital advertising throughout The Arbutus Club in Vancouver BC. For every promotion there was a slide created to play on a rotation throughout the facility on several vertical screens.

Duties included: image sourcing, layout design and advertising copy writing and/or editing, uploading to player software while setting perimeters for the time the image is live.

The Canadian Cancer Society celebrated another year of fundraising and glamour at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver raising $1.2 million in support of important research to help families living with cancer.

Responsible for the Graphic Design, I ensured creativity and consistency throughout including the Save the Date, the official Evite, Auction Catalogue, Evening Program, files for decor assets, signage for the live and silent auction items, large format welcome and sponsorship signage, table cards and digital images.

The painting “Reflections of Light" by Vancouver BC artist, Dana Mooney, was featured at the 2018 Daffodil Ball. An image of the painting was provided to me for the design and production of the 2018 Daffodil Ball print assets.

I built a colour coding system to identify categories and wisps of the seascape painting for continuity. The best feedback received about the Auction Catalogue is how it’s become the coffee-table-book in the homes of Canadian Cancer Society donors.

The Daffodil Ball celebrated it’s 22nd year of fundraising and glamour at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. As one of the Canadian Cancer Society’s signature events, the gala raised $1.5 million in support of families with cancer.

Responsible for the print design & production, I created signage for the live and silent auction items, large format welcome and sponsorship signs, the Evening Program and table signage.

Brand identity for Imbue included creating four labels for the product bottles and small labels for tester tubes. Responsibilities included brand font, vector graphic, and label layout.

Each skin-recovery mist formula has a unique colour that's connected to its name and ingredients. With consistency and complimentary principles, the set is beautiful while each bottle has it’s own presence.

During the illustration + pattern phase of this project, I created patterns and two-colour designs for printing on ribbon to make Wee Charms. Two boxes were needed to accommodate shipping the varying quantities of Wee Charms. Included here are two sets of box die-lines and layouts.

I also created an inset for a clear heavy-plastic, zippered bag. The inset is designed to wrap around the inside of the bag with a panel on the bottom, front and back. There is a unique inset for each blanket design.

Drawing figures started for me around 5 years old, being allowed to draw on my bedroom walls, Disney princesses were my favourite subject.

I still love to illustrate but now it’s fashion, art and women with their personal style that inspires me. Vector drawing in Adobe Illustrator opens up the world of drawing.

A client’s idea for baby blankets started with the development of themes, characters, and colour combinations. Using the characters developed, repeat patterns were designed to centre the slogan on each blanket. Around the edge of each blanket design, there is a timeline for the baby's first year of life.

Colour precision was achieved by using a 100% cotton colour simulator.

Canadian Cancer Society's prevention team required layout and infographics for sharing on social media. These vectors are designed in the brand's secondary colours, adhering to the Canadian Cancer Society's two-dimensional, simplified style. 

Included here are social media images I created for three campaigns: 'Sugar Free September', 'Impact of Donations', and 'HPV Awareness and Advocacy'. Copy and photos were provided with art direction.

Email marketing design that is attention grabbing and clear in it’s message is often required along with other marketing materials. Although legibility is very important, so is balance, contrast, cohesiveness and a strong call to action.

Provided here are examples from email designs created to communicate effectively details surrounding the gala event hosted by this leading, national charity organization.

Responsible for the design and production of the Canadian Cancer Society's 20th Daffodil Ball 2016 print collateral. Design assets were to include the image of a gorgeous floral painting by Bobby Burgers.

A personal mailed invitation was required. Special touches are important like the die-cut invite cover, silver envelopes, fade-out details of the painting and full-bleed, midnight blue.

Production design examples during my time with the Canadian Cancer Society.

The Canadian Cancer Society's philanthropy team required a PDF for corporate prospects, and a magazine-like publication for donors. These pieces were created to educate, inspire and involve the audience.

Artwork for printing on specialty surfaces including fabric, vinyl and adhesives including vector graphics created for silkscreen printing on fabric, artwork for a summer camp t-shirt, a promotional sticker, running shirts, an event photo mat, and office window decals.

Production typically involves the editing of photos. Here are some examples that illustrate my creative use of Adobe Photoshop to create, enhance or re-mix and correct images.
